Answered directly to President, & CFO. Had all technical support staff as my direct reports. In charge of installation and maintenance of all corporate LAN and remote machinery. Responsible for all client side application development and maintenance on SureAir's Transaction, CallSheet, & Imaging Systems. In charge of multiple separate on going product development efforts (including an outsourcing efforts being performed by Digital.). Conducted meetings with Department Managers, and Senior Staff to coordinate efforts and resolve issues. Personally trained new Developers and personnel in Methodologies used by corporation. Architected and implemented new release procedures for previous, current, and future versions of all the systems. Responsible for all computing and telephony negotiations and purchases for corporation. Including but not limited to workstations, printers, scanners, faxes, Servers, equipment upgrades, all software (both application and operating systems), network components, technical support, and Telecommunications Services. Oversaw installation of Microsoft Exchange 5.0 on to a majority of Corporate PCs. Devised and implemented an incremental off-hours network upgrade plan to move the corporate network from 10 base T using NetBEUI to 100 base T running TCP/IP. Created and got corporate approval for a Migration Plan for moving all entry systems from Terminals to PC Workstation based systems. Scheduled and oversaw migration plans for all departments from Digital Mainframe and VAX terminals to using Windows Workstations. Other responsibilities included: interviewing of potential staff and outsourcers, preparation of functional specifications & time schedules for software development, scheduling of staff's work, consulting with Managers to insure improved efficiency from employees use of new systems and at times served as substitute VAX/VMS, LAN, Domain & Database administrators.

Answered directly to MIS Manger and was hands on manager of all on-line systems operations. Had technicians and programmers as my direct reports. In charge of troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to all day to day operations. Developed and Designed a service call logging system that handles 50,000 calls yearly. The system uses Microsoft Access VBA for the GUI connected through ODBC to an Oracle Server. Redesigned data entry system to reduce entry time of 140,000 invoices yearly. Specified and assisted in development of invoice imaging system to begin transition to paperless office. Dealt with all year 2000 identification in preexisting legacy systems. Responsible for evaluation and changes in the design of the new operating system to replace our mainframe due to year 2000 constraints. Analyzed invoicing system and produced functional specification for a new system, which would dramatically reduce Back Office clerical staff and our billing cycle. Obtained management approval for new invoicing system. Acquired and oversaw outsourcing resources to produce system. Wrote and carried out both the test plan and deployment schedule for the system. Produced RFPs for bid submission on replacement machinery, WebSite equipment, computer equipment & components network installation & service, and all outsource programming projects. Determined telephone service vendors for contracts in excess of 350,000 Dollars yearly. Other responsibilities included: Negotiation with another firm to license for their use our internally defined tracking software. Trouble shooting the legacy Mainframe system for the root of particular system errors, Preparation of functional specifications & time schedules for software development, Delegation of coding & integration of submodules to staff and outsourcing efforts, Providing information to staff members on technical questions pertaining to all systems and their operation, Analysis of all systems for inefficiencies, Reporting possible courses of action for improving efficacy, Spending time with end users, training, sales, support, QA and technical writers explaining the functionality and uses for the systems, Trained new employees on use of existing systems Served as VAX/VMS, LAN, Domain & Database administrators. In charge of Service side issues of new corporate revenue streams. New ventures included Water Filter and Central Vacuum installation and services for businesses. Contacted, entered negotiations and consummated a partnership with Electrulox. Set up contractors for new business ventures (water filter installations and central vacuum installations with electrolux). Negotiated flat rate installation fees for water filter installation and per inlet flat rates for central vacuum installations. Developed inventory control and job cost spreadsheets for the vacuums. Assisted operations in cleaning up problem areas either by replacing vendors or by straightening vendors out.  

Electrical & Plumbing Manager Sure Air Ltd.,

Took over a fledgling repair division and hired 800 sub contractors in a 2-year period. Handled approximately 100 service calls a week. The divisions are now generating over 2 million dollars in sales annually with a staff of 5 separate individuals. Set up mass mailings for solicitation of potential subcontractors. Negotiated contracts with subcontractors. Contacted potential subcontractors in uncovered areas. Worked up cost structure associated with division's services. Delegated tasks for all follow up work with staff. Review job quotes for proper material cost as well as the correct time alotment. Supervise the flow and monitor the entry of invoices. Managed area as a separate profit center.

Contractually hire and terminate service companies. Negotiate labor, material, refrigerant and inspection rates. Assign customer locations to service organizations.. Supervise entry of new locations. Issue job approvals and purchase orders and review for reasonableness and necessity. Obtain second opinions if necessary. Review service company's invoices for compliance and accuracy. Review vendor statements, open invoices, and open purchase orders to prevent accumulation of unprocessed invoices. Maintain service company and store communications. Coordinate authorizations and communications with account executives. Insured that inspections were performed on a timely basis and follow-up was done on all problems noted on inspection report. Supervise the flow and monitor the entry of invoices. Manage inspection schedule as well as review of vendor inspection performance. Consultant Independent For multiple home computer users have fixed machinery, installed & configured software, performed upgrades and diagnosed problems.

Authored content for there video game Executive Crossword and installed and configured their scanner. For VNS assisted with installation of corporate LAN. Built PCs from components and performed routine maintenance.
